What we handle
The water side of your heating system: leaks, dropped pressure, faulty pumps, hot water cylinders, immersion heaters, valves and pipework. Most "boiler problems" reported to us turn out to be issues here.
What needs a Gas Safe engineer
Any work on the gas side of the boiler — burners, gas valves, flues, and the boiler's internal gas components — is only ever carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We won't touch gas-side work, and we'll tell you plainly when that's what's needed.
Hot water cylinders & immersion heaters
If your heating works but hot water doesn't, the cylinder is often the real culprit. We check cylinder valves, thermostats and coils for faults, and repair or replace immersion heaters when they've failed — whether that's a full loss of hot water or water that won't get properly hot.

Check the pressure gauge
Most system boilers should read between 1 and 1.5 bar when cold. Well below that, and low pressure is likely your problem.
Check the thermostat

Check the fuse and switch
A tripped fuse or a boiler isolation switch left off will stop a perfectly healthy boiler from firing at all.

Why is my boiler on but no hot water?
This is usually a water-side fault rather than the boiler's gas components — a stuck diverter valve, an airlock, or a problem with the hot water cylinder. We check these first, as they're the most common cause and don't require Gas Safe work.
Do I need a plumber or a Gas Safe engineer?
If the fault is water-side — leaks, pressure, pumps, cylinders, immersion heaters — that's plumbing work we handle directly. If it's gas-side — burners, gas valves, flues — that's only ever done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We'll be upfront about which one your problem needs.
Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?
Persistent pressure loss almost always means water is escaping somewhere in the system — a weeping valve, a pinhole leak in pipework, or a fault at the pressure relief valve. Topping up the pressure repeatedly without finding the leak just delays the same problem.
